To me, there are few scarier things in this world than a man with a vision. Especially when that vision is a monolithic beacon of mysticism, adorned with a crystal skull, and the capabilities of broadcasting radio signals thousands of miles in every direction. Thankfully, while the Memphis Pyramid does still stand, most of the ideas John Tigrett pitched for the construction and use of the building never came to fruition.
This week, we’re taking a look at the most beautiful eyesore in Tennessee, and we’re going back in time to 1989-1993 (and we’ll even spend some time ante Christum natum) as we go in depth on the construction and use of the Memphis Pyramid over a decade before it was renovated and retrofit to become the most iconic Bass Pro Shop on earth.

A European Vacation #3
This week I have for y’all a quick 7.5 hour trip across many of the most popular places in Western Europe, so I hope you brought a snack and some good walking shoes. First off, we will wind our way down the Rhine River, stopping in Germany and Switzerland, then over to France for a long stay in the capital, next we will hop on a train to Italy for awhile, then return to Switzerland to explore some more, finally it’s off to Ireland and Scotland for the remainder of the trip.
A Journey Across Asia
It’s likely that I say this in one way or another every single week, but I’ve got something really special this time around. While I was looking through the bookshelves at a Habitat Re:Store in my area, I spotted a whole line of train and travel tapes that had recently been decommissioned from a local library. I often come across train videos, however it’s very rare that I find some from these regions, which seems somewhat odd to me, as many Asian countries, like Japan, are known the world over for their highspeed rail travel.
Train Month Part 3
This week for Train Month we are looking at five fresh tapes from the collection of a fellow VHS enthusiast! Just a few months ago, I was contacted by a reader who mentioned that they lived somewhat close by (they recognized places in some of my photos), and we started talking about tapes and collecting, etc. Turns out they had several train tapes that they were willing to trade with me!
Thanks! I Hate It!
