Great article! I was wondering if you would share how you took the product photo for the header? I've zoomed in and examined it closely and can't seem to figure out if the reflection is real or not.
oh wow i'm glad it's convincing!!! it's surprisingly low-tech haha. it's flat scan of three sides of the box cropped really close to the edges, which i arranged next to each other with some dark grey space in between each scan in affinity photo. then i opened that file in photoscape classic and used it's 40% reflection effect. then i opened that file back up in affinity photo for the final touches (grain, sharpening etc). I used this effect for another box set (link below), with a white background, which to my eye is even more convincing, but no i don't have the ability or gear to take product shots like these in camera, that's a whole other set of skills from what i have at the moment.
